For the 36th year, the Superboat championships returned for the biggest race of the year. Competition between leading American and international powerboat racing teams, unmatched close up viewing for spectators and a course with major challenges characterise the 36th annual Key West Championship series. The races took place from the 6th to 13th November 2018, over a 4.5 mile per lap course that features both rough and calm water. Over the championships three-decade history, the demanding course has helped establish Key West as one of the world’s premier powerboat racing venues. In addition to testing racer’s ability and endurance, the course layout means boats thundering into Key Wests Harbour can come within 50 yards of the Truman Waterfront Grandstand area, providing fans breath-taking displays of skill and power. Fans viewed the race from several areas around the Truman Waterfront, including a VIP grandstand Other popular viewing spots included harbour front hotels and Mallory Square.
