Musical climax at Gosport Grand Prix

Racing fans at the Gosport Grand Prix next month will be treated to some live music concert starring Professor Green, writes former Powerboat P1 team owner Richard Carr.

Rapper ready to wrap things up!

British rapper, singer and songwriter Pro Green will give wrap the weekend up at Gosport, closing what is expected to be two fantastic days of powerboat racing and Jet Ski action.

Fans can purchase tickets for the event exclusively from Ticketmaster now.

The London-born rapper will appear on the P1 stage from 5pm, supported by DJ Santero and the voices of Tre Amici.

Pro Green is one of the UKs most successful rappers and has racked up sales of more than 500,000 albums and 1.75 million singles in the UK alone. He has teamed up with some of UK music’s hottest acts including Lily Allen, Labrinth and Emeli Sande.

He has also recorded two top three albums and eight consecutive top 40 singles. His music videos have notched up over 32 million views.

30,000 fans expected

Powerboat P1 made an impressive start to the 2015 season with an action packed weekend on the Scarborough coast and more of the same is expected in a month’s time.

P1’s debut at Gosport last year proved hit and race organisers are expecting a crowd of more than 30,000 across the weekend.

Richard Carr, of Poole, is one of the UK’s most experienced and successful powerboat racers, who has competed in the sport globally.

He has won numerous domestic and international honours: he became British Class 1 Champion in 1991; he was the winner of the coveted Needles Trophy and he also came second in the Cowes Torquay Cowes race in 1992. It was the year the race was controversially competed in the fog and it has been argued for many years that he actually won the race.

He is known in the sport for his aggressive racing character in rough seas and recently raced in the USA for Geico in 2011.
