Team Victory Pilots Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi last won and raced together in 2011 and they celebrated their renewal in style with a massive winning margin of 49 seconds in Race 1 of the Mediterranean Grand Prix.
Team Victory cruise to opening race win
The Victory duo began the race in pole position and led from the start, completing the 13 lap race in just under 36 minutes.
However, arguably the performance of the race was from the Tommy One team of Maurizio Schepici and Stefano Bonanno in the V1 class. The pair came from a long way back in fourth to eventually take the win in 36 minutes and 33 seconds.
Not even an overturned boat could prevent Team Victory making it race win number two
A similar theme continued for the Team Victory boys in Race 2, despite the close attentions of Team Abu Dhabi. However, their challenge was very short lived following their crash early on, thankfully both Faleh AL Mansoori and Rashed Al Tayer emerged unscathed from their upturned boat.
From the restart, Victory’s Al Zaffain and Bin Hendi sped off into the distance and were unchallenged throughout, as they completed a perfect weekend.
Official Race Results from Ibiza
